Quick note to anyone I owe things to that I’ve been under the weather this week. Some random bug I picked up from Kavi (Kev and I just got back our mandatory PCR COVID test results, negative, so it’s not that). She missed two days of school last week with sore throat and general exhaustion,
Sewed a few more scarves for the Valentine’s sale. I am overwhelmed by the cuteness of Kavi’s “Heartplanets” design.

cw: exercise. So, I’ve hopped back on the exercise wagon, after a few months of not managing it consistently. Honestly, it was pretty rocky during the whole pandemic — initially, I think I was fairly depressed, and my activity levels took a sharp nosedive during lockdown. While that improved for a while last summer, I

This is my own tardigrade fabric (very subtle, very tiny little adorable polka dot tardigrades) paired with an Indian-style block print. I think this bag would be perfect for a sewing kit (it’s big enough to hold a full-size pair of sewing scissors,

Nice to start the morning with a little project bag sewing and a British detectoring show. I finished Foyle’s War — very good, I’d put it up next to Vera and Shetland for my favorites. Now watching Pie in the Sky, an older show about an almost-retired detective who’s just opened a fine dining restaurant.
Sewing question. When I make a channel for a drawstring, there’s a tiny edge of raw fabric where you insert the drawstring. That’s unavoidable, right? I can’t figure out a geometric way to fold / sew that so I can still insert the drawstring without having a raw edge. Should I be doing something to

Made another quick little project bag. It’s very satisfying, using these to finish off fabrics. Bags are very flexible — you can make them wide, you can make them tall, there aren’t any rules. And it’s giving me a reason to dig into my stash of cool buttons that I’ve collected over the years…
Cute! These are going to be one-offs, I think; I’ll make them as I feel like it.
