If you get a chance, stop by and check out the sponsorship page for Kriti. I think it's reasonably clear, but if not, please let me know. And if you feel like sponsoring, please do! I admit, it's making me fairly anxious, trying to invite authors to a festival without actually having money in hand to guarantee their expenses in advance. Nerve-wracking. :-( I wish there was a better way to do this. It seems like no one wants to give money until they know who you're inviting, but you can't invite people unless you have money -- or unless you're willing to bet on having money in time. Argh.
I think this is going to be a great festival, tremendous fun and really good for South Asian diaspora literature -- we need the sort of conversation and cross-fertilization that happens so brilliantly at conventions like WisCon. It's just a new concept for our field, and there's a certain amount of resistance to the new to overcome...
Today is I think mostly going to be a small household tasks kind of day, puttering about. I have a stack of papers left to deal with, for example. My utility closet is a disaster (dating back several months, to when the water heater exploded when I was out of town and Kevin had to take everything out, replace the heater, and put everything back in, all higgledy-piggledy). My clothes closet has stacks of SLF co-op books all over the floor; they need to go in boxes and be put away until WisCon. Today will be dedicated to reducing the amount of chaos in my life. :-) I think I'm going to play some tv in the background; Kevin got me the Star Wars trilogy for Christmas, so I think that'll be a good choice. I haven't seen those movies in years...
