We’ll see how the day goes

Writing accountability: Met with Lori again, tried for 7:30, got a very slow start, didn’t start actually writing ’til 9. Wrote for 30 minutes, 401 words, and they’re not great words. Still, they can be revised. Moving forward.

(‘Chapter Four’ counts as two words, right?)

“Shanthi had fallen asleep with her grandfather’s notebook in her hand, tucked under the covers where Gen wouldn’t see it. She’d had to work a little to read his handwriting, which had gotten wobbly in the last few years. He was getting older – he could still tie the knots, but for how much longer? Would that affect his magic too?”

Plan for today — unclear, but it has to start with breakfast (I grabbed something small at 7:30, but it was not enough; need to eat properly). After that, letter of recommendation. After that, catch up on Serendib Slack messages.

If I do all that, THEN I am allowed to read another chapter or two of Nicola Griffith’s Menewood, which is just AWESOME. (Read Hild first.)

I’d like to start some seeds today, but I also need to keep putting away Christmas; should probably do that first. And I want to practice more with the Cameo, maybe I can cut out some vinyl window clings for the store? Will regular vinyl work for window clings? I have half the earrings still to cover in resin and attach the bits that make them functional (there must be a name for those. Are they called ‘findings,’ or something else?).

And I have some new resin molds that I’m eager to try, but it might be too cold today in the basement for resin to set, even with the space heater going. Should be warmer tomorrow, fingers crossed.

We’ll see how the day goes.
