Merola cobalt blue porcelain penny round, Home Depot, $6.95 sq. ft.
Merola cobalt blue porcelain square tile, Home Depot, $6.50 sq. ft.
Merola blue cloud porcelain pebble, Home Depot, about $7 sq. ft. (Kev thinks these may just look cheap in person)
Luxetile 2" ceramic blue hexagon, $5.95 sq. ft. (minimum order 100 sq. ft.)
Luxetile 3/4" porcelain blue hexagon mosaic, $7.30 sq. ft. (minimum order 50 sq. ft.)
I need to call tomorrow to find out if the latter two are floor-rated. And I need to see samples in person. But I definitely prefer the look of these to the Menard's tiles. What do you think?
I LOVE the 2″ hex tiles. Might be giving me ideas about a bathroom re-do over here…damn you.
I love the 2″ hex tiles too! Also like the little square ones.
I LOVE the 3/4″ hex tiles. I think it’s the variation in the color that makes them work for me.
I can’t wait to see your home when you’re done with all this, Mary Anne. We seem to have a similar aesthetic sense, so I’m pretty sure I’ll just drool 🙂
I was scrolling through this, thinking yeah, that wouldn’t be bad, sure, not bad, uh-huh, yep—
and then I got to the 2″ hex tiles and I said, out loud: “Ooooh.” Or words to that effect.
Looks gorgeous from that photo. Makes me want to redo my bathroom with those.
I like the bubble one (if it doesn’t look cheap) would look like little bubbles under the sea!
#s 4, 5, and 2 are lovely. Ditch the Menard’s!
Just a note that the LuxeTile is floor-rated for residential use. Woohoo! Ordered a sample, should be here soon, hopefully before we leave for Xmas in CA.
Still hope to stop by Home Depot soon.
I’m going to be a spoilsport & note that glass tile can be very slippery on a bathroom floor. If you’re going to have little kids splashing & sploshing in the tub, then running (or even walking) across the floor, it’s worth thinking about the surface texture of the tile & how much “grip” it will offer little feet when it’s wet.
