Very nice dinner last…

Very nice dinner last night at Del Toro. The trio of bruschetta was memorable -- I didn't expect to like the sardine/avocado combo, but it was yummy, the butternut squash was a nice sweet treat, and I loved loved loved the rosemary grilled chicken liver with sweet onion marmalade and house smoked bacon. I had three pieces. Crispy-fried chick peas (well-spiced, and meltingly soft on the insides) were a nice surprise, and made me wish I deep-fried more often. The patatas bravas were decadent little bites. The lamb was good, and everyone raved about the veal -- I just had a tiny taste because I was so stuffed by then. Not that there wasn't room for dessert -- the crema catalana was very well done, but even better were the churros and chocolate -- I'd be tempted to stop in on a chilly evening just to have that at the bar. They even make it with scharffenberger chocolate. Mmm...

Last night, didn't sleep well, perhaps five somewhat broken hours. Woke exhausted. Think I may be fighting off a cold or something, because the last few days, I'm generally much more tired than I ought to be. Climbing a flight of stairs makes my muscles ache; I feel like I'm going to fall down. Annoying.

In a bit I go over to Satya's to rehearse. Hopefully I'll be reasonably awake for that. A shower may help.
