There is some small possibility that my postcards will have my actual cover on them. Eep. I have been sent a draft, which I am picking up from UPS today. It is apparently a picture of a book. That doesn't sound so exciting, but I am counting my blessings because it could so easily have been a half-naked woman in a sari, in the rain...
(no, my book is not particularly about rain)
Zak is being, as usual, an utter sweetheart, and has agreed to do the layout for the SH cards as well. What would we do without volunteer designers?
Tonight, dinner with Soniah Kamal, who shares my agent, and who has just sold her first novel to Penguin. Coolness. I met her at Minal's dinner last weekend, and am looking forward to having a chance to get to know her a little better.
Tomorrow, another class, possibly meeting up with Ajna in the afternoon to collect a piece of her photography that I bought, dinner with Jeremy in the city.
Busy busy busy. I go home on Wednesday!

And I laughed. I’m very happy with Warner, but the cover for Skin Folk showed a beautiful black woman in a sugar cane field at night, with a snake. IIRC, most of the stories are set in Toronto, which has a decidedly untropical climate. i don’t believe there are any sugar cane fields in the book, though there is a metaphorical snake.
