Revised war story (entitled "Sins of the Father") yay! Much better now, I think, and my only concern is that it does a pretty similar alternating of epistolary/narration thing that happens in "Minal in Winter", later in the collection. Though there are something like nine stories in between, so that's probably okay. But it does come right after "Lakshmi's Diary", which is entirely in journal entries. I'm hoping the form won't seem obtrusive -- it just felt like the right way to deal with the material. Hmm....well, we'll see what editor and agent think...
Okay, now I really am going to try to motivate to go to the gym. But I did some writing! It's a good day! :-)
And hey -- I just did a word count. It's 91,516 words. That's...that's sort of stunning, that is. I'm not sure how I managed to write that many words. Though a good couple of hundred of those are in the form of acknowledgements... clearly, I had a lot of help writing all those words. :-)
