Two more people have joined the Foundation, bringing the total up to 12 (and $360)! Woohoo! We're now officially a third of the way towards that first $1000, which I'm hoping to spend in some good way soon. Any suggestions y'all want to throw into the mix will be welcomed -- if you were a sf/f-promoting foundation with a thousand dollars to spend, what would you spend it on?
Things I would spend that $1000 on:
1. Poker tournament: $50 buy-in
2. The Stranger, by Albert Camus’
3. Booze.
In all seriousness, how about donating it towards the sf/f short film? Have you ever attended Sundance? Some of those potential films could use some funding. Sundance is a way for directors to be handed mass-audience movies to make, it’d be cool for some of these aspiring sf directors to make it big and be the next Paul Thomas Anderson.
