I talked to Katie (my advisor) yesterday, about the first draft manuscript I'd sent her over the summer. Full of holes, and needing serious revision, and with some big structural issues, all of which I knew and she confirmed. But she liked it! She likes the project (which I was worried about, because she hadn't actually seen any of it since three years ago), and thinks it's solid and intriguing and such, and she said the writing was beautiful (which I appreciate even more since she's primarily a poet), and she didn't think it was too obsessed with sex or too repetitive overall (which, again, I was worried about) -- she said just to go full speed ahead. Finish the remaining stories, make sure every story works individually as a story, send her the next draft within a few months. Hooray!
