Kevin would like me to…

Kevin would like me to set the record straight. He reminds me that when he was sick a few weeks ago, and getting ready to go to bed, he mentioned to me that there was just enough NyQuil left for him to take one dose, and that I said that I hoped that would be enough, and he said he thought so. And that then, neither one of us remembered to put NyQuil on the shopping list on the fridge door. So it was a base calumny to accuse him of depriving me of NyQuil in my hour of need. Which I admit. In fact, it's almost always a base calumny to accuse Kevin of doing anything actually wrong, unless it involves forgetting to bring me flowers, an act he continues to perform with wild abandon. I hereby note that, for the record, Kevin is almost always irritatingly in the right (one of his worst character traits, actually), and you should take any allegations to the contrary in the future with a huge grain of salt.

He also fixed the DSL by checking the bit where the phone cord goes into the splitter, and pushing it in more firmly. I'd checked that the power was plugged in; I'd power-cycled it; I'd messed with all kinds of net settings on my computer (with and without Jed's help); I'd checked the ethernet connection to the airport, and the airport connection to the computer -- the one thing I didn't check was the phone cord to the splitter, because I wasn't thinking clearly; in Utah, I had a cable modem, so there was no phone cord involved. It just didn't occur to me. Argh.

Kevin also rescued my FotR DVD from the DVD player (which ate it on Saturday) -- he thinks that the DVD player is actually fixed, but I'm a little bit afraid to put a DVD in, in case it gets eaten again. Maybe I'll test it with one of his DVD's. A suitable reward for all his hard work...
