Finishing up de Beauvoir and starting Pico Iyer's v. entertaining Video Night in Kathmandu. My exam committee gave me this one as a present; it's much too light and entertaining for the critical list, but they thought I had enough dense monstrosities on that list (Dammit, Jim -- I'm a writer, not a critic!). It's perfect for today, when I'm feeling exhausted and mildly hungover. I've been reading all morning; I'm about to take a break for lunch and a recorded Angel. Then some more reading, then the gym, the grocery store, the hardware store. Then more reading. Possibly dinner with Bryan (visiting us) and Kevin, possibly they'll go out with math people and I'll make something comforting here. Then more reading. And more reading.
