Groggy morning. I’m…

Groggy morning. I'm watching a movie, Hanif Kureishi's My Beautiful Laundrette. Pakistanis in London; at least vaguely connected to my research interests, and so it counts as academic work. Pretty funny so far.

It looks like I'll be going to AWP -- Samantha's booked a hotel room for us. I'm still hoping we can find someone else to share the room and reduce the overall cost -- don't suppose any of you are writers interested in going? I think it's supposed to be a pretty decent conference for working creative writers, not just for the academic ones among us. And New Orleans in March can't be too shoddy. (I don't suppose any of you live in New Orleans? I don't think I know anyone in that area...)

That means no ICFA this year; Chris will have to go without me. Luckily, I think I can still claim the paper as an academic credit; pretty cool. Of course, I'll be presenting it at WisCon later anyway, and I don't know if you're supposed to list such things twice or not. The ways of academia are strange and mysterious.

Okay, back to movie. Still too sleepy to be very coherent. Snow is falling heavily, and I don't feel up to coping with the world quite yet.
