And hey -- it looks like word has gone out about our new Asian American Studies Program at UIC -- cool. This is what a good chunk of my admin work will be focused on (along with helping out the existing Asian Studies program). We'll be offering a minor in the fall -- not that U Chicago really did minors, but if it had, I would have loved to minor in Asian American Studies. I'm glad our students will have the opportunity, and with any luck, as the program builds, it'll lead to my teaching some interesting new courses. :-)
