"Bodies in Motion: Stories" (HarperCollins Publishers, $22.95) is by former Oakland resident, Mary Anne Mohanraj. Warm and expressive prose marks these stories of love and sex, in which two families alternately call Sri Lanka and America home.Teaching was great; love my class. Although it's interesting trying to generate energetic discussion about race issues when all my students seem quite liberal on the subject (and sweet). I assigned them a debate for next week, so some of them will have to argue positions they don't agree with. We'll see how that goes.
Driving home sucked. Much fierce rain. Scary. Street cleaning tomorrow, no parking. I'm going to have to get up early tomorrow and move car again. Sadness. Woe.
