Had two good meetings…

Had two good meetings after that, with Roohi Choudhury, whom I think I talked into being on the board of DesiLit, as a New York representative, and with Mythri Jegathesan, the old family friend now researching child soldiers, who was so helpful with the relevant details for my book. Lovely. And then I ended up with a couple of hours to kill before my bus back to Connecticut, so I found a Starbucks and logged in for a while -- ah, high-speed internet. A nice change after my parents' house.

And then followed that with a visit to the convenient movie theater next door. I love watching movies alone -- it feels so decadent. Almost wicked. Saw Wicker Park (because Vanity Fair would have taken more time than I had). Very oft-told story, but the complex time structure and management of information made it reasonably suspenseful and fun. I enjoyed it. Though I think I found the ending more ambiguous than we were meant to...

I can't discuss it further without spoilers, and actually, it's one of those movies that it's best to go see without knowing anything about it in advance. So if you're in the mood for sex, passion, love and confusion, this isn't a bad choice.

Okay, now I really have to go find my bus stop...
