It made me so happy to see all these educators cheerfully chiming in to help his kid with the subtraction issue.
And then it made me sad -- if only we could do the same for every kid, that kind of individualized attention combined with flexibility of practice and thought.
My own kids are still small, 2 and 4, but I'm pretty confident that as the kids of two professors, if they run into educational stumbling blocks, we'll have access to a ton of help for them. Every kid should have the same.
