Kevin really liked
David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet -- it's a big book. I thought I hadn't read anything of his, in fact, until I read Robert Ito's
lovely tribute to his life and work on Salon and was reminded of the wonderful lobster piece
[link to Gourmet article PDF of piece], which I think I heard read on NPR? I didn't realize it was Wallace's. I'm going to try to read more of his writing soon. In the meantime, though, I urge you to take a few minutes to read through the tribute. Very moving.
"Inevitably our thought was, if only he could have held on a little bit longer," says sister Amy. "And then we realized, he did. How many extra weeks had he hung in there when he just couldn't bear it? So we're not angry at him. Not at all. We just miss him."
