The SLF is teaching its first online writing class starting tonight, Ted Schneider‘s Intro to Screenwriting, a six-week class. I’m excited!
This is a pilot class for us; we’re using poor Ted as a guinea pig to figure out how to make the process smooth for both teachers and students. Thank you, Ted!
If it goes well, we’re hoping to add some one-shot workshops in the next few months, and then some longer classes, probably in January, such as Intro to Fiction, or Advanced Worldbuilding, or Researching Your Historical Novel, etc. and so on.
If there’s something in particular you’d love to have us offer, let me know! And if you’d like to get on the list of people to be notified when Ted teaches this class for us again, let me know that too!
The pic below is a screenshot of my very early draft of a pitch for what I’ll be working on (I’m taking the class); I’m going to try to adapt my recently completed SF novel (which I’m planning to start shopping around to publishers this week, eep!) to a screenplay format, for a feature length film.
I’m a little worried that it’ll end up wildly too long. We’ll see how it goes.
It’s sort of Jane Austen (or possibly Jane Eyre) in space, but with a South Asian poly twist. There’s a tagline for you…
