Anand is behind on Spanish, and is basically checking out throughout the classes, which are pretty immersive, because he doesn’t understand anything. He agrees that this is a problem, and is willing to study Spanish separately with us to catch up. What would you recommend for this?
He’s 10, and honestly, I mostly feel like he just needs to memorize a bunch of basic words so he’s not completely lost. But sitting and doing flash cards with Anand seems like it could easily lead to misery all around. Or maybe not, if we could make a game of it? I think if he did a standard first-year Spanish curriculum, that’d catch him up reasonably well. Something that was more of a computer game that he could do on his own would be ideal, I suspect.
