Texts I send my daughter: Hey, kiddo. Good morning. I’d like some sketches for the book I’m working on. One of them would be of a young woman, about 20 years old, half white, half Sri Lankan, so looking sort of like you but older. She has long brown-black hair in a braid down her back, and is wearing a moss-green sari. Ideally, it’d have her riding a bicycle, or at least standing with one.
