If you were wondering why I rushed off to New York earlier this week, it was to meet this beauty — Savreen Therese Alagasewary Gandhi, my niece! Daughter of my sister Mirna and her charming husband Gian, Savreen was born on the solstice, and has already brought so much light into our family’s lives. Best Christmas present EVER. (Although if I were her, I’d probably agitating for celebrating a half-birthday in July…)
