It is thunderstorming today as I head off to teach Poe. "The Cask of Amontillado," "The Telltale Heart," "The Fall of the House of Usher," "The Raven." Will we read the entirety of "The Raven" aloud in class? Why yes, I think we will. It was a long weekend, and I am sleepy, but if I can't be snuggled up in my bed listening to the rain, reciting poetry with my students is a pretty good second.
"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
Tis some visiter, I muttered, tapping at my chamber door
Only this and nothing more."
