I'm sick. I dragged myself in to campus today because I love Nadine and didn't want to miss her colloquium, also because missing the first day after spring break makes it harder to get the students up and running again, also because I have a grant application due today, and I thought I'd do a better job finishing and filing it from here, and also because Maria promised me a little present (maybe Sri Lankan food?), but I am now thinking that the whole endeavor may have been a terrible mistake. Kavi stayed home sick from school today; I was feverish last night and am queasy and woozy today. Colleagues / students, I recommend maintaining a three foot cautionary distance. I'll just be over here, huddled in a corner, isolating myself and mumbling.
