Kevin doesn't like fish, I don't like most leafy greens. We're both trying to eat healthier, so tonight, we're having fish and collard greens. However, they are heavily ameliorated with bacon, to make them more palatable. I'm not sure this is a net gain. But in case you'd like to try this too, here are the recipes:
Collard Greens with Red Onions and Bacon
Tilapia with Tomato Bacon Butter
I’m laughing because the top 8 things my daughter likes all have bacon, although the amount of bacon varies greatly.
My daughter was asking for collard greens and bacon the other day: “Mom, can we have that green stuff with bacon again?”. Is getting a kid to eat collard greens worth the bacon? I guess so…
At least for asparagus we only have to have it browned in butter. No bacon needed.
I don’t know, Mary Anne. If you really don’t like something, maybe your tongue is trying to tell you it is not good for you, because of something in your own personal biochemistry/physiology. I would never eat cranberries, for example, just to try to vary my diet.
