Greeted by hellebores

Home again. Hugged Kevin and the kids, made Kavi tell me about the Olivia Rodrigo concert for 15 minutes (she had SUCH a good time!), school board meeting in 5 minutes.

I’m coughing and very queasy, which is probably just sleeping badly last night (no good reason, just couldn’t sleep) and tiredness-induced, but I did travel through four airports in the last week, so am being cautious and joining the board meeting remotely. I’m not sure I could manage sitting at a board table through a whole meeting this evening. I do think it’s better to be in person if possible, but I also think remote participation is better than no participation.

I am asking Kevin to bring me ginger tea. I may ask him to bring me soup later, if my stomach settles.
Huh. I just realized that Chicago –> Orlando –> Los Angeles –> San Francisco –> Chicago would make a pretty good loop on Ticket to Ride, which I played a bunch of on the plane once I finished reading my book. Funny.

It was a little chilly in Chicago while I was traveling, which is good, because it means my garden didn’t change much while I was gone. My favorite part of the gardening year is the progression of early spring ephemerals and the hellebores. Here are some hellebores that greeted me on my return.
