I’ve been obsessively listening to the Star Trek: SNW musical’s “Keep Us Connected”

with the glorious Celia Rose Gooding singing, followed by the all-crew finale, “We Are One”. I’ve probably listened to those two songs a dozen times in the last few days; I’ve been stressed, and they’re very comforting.

One interesting thing has come out of this – I’d really LOVE to work on the screenplay for Janet Kagan’s _Uhura’s Song_, which I think would be an amazing movie for Paramount to develop right now, with the new Uhura / Kirk / Spock / Scotty. It’s a pandemic story, it’s incredibly timely, and if it comes out in 3-5 years, we’ll hopefully be recovered enough to appreciate it without feeling re-traumatized.

I don’t know if the Kagan estate has optioned the rights, and it’s probably all wildly unlikely (although it mostly takes place on a planet, out in nature, so much less expensive to film than most SF).

Still, just putting it out into the universe. Make it so.
