This will be fun — I’ve been invited to present at Berkeley as part of a 3-day program about speculative fiction from around the world. I’ll be presenting about South Asian and South Asian diaspora speculative fiction and will lead a discussion about one or two particular short stories (suitable for young adult readers).
It’s geared towards professional learning programs for teachers on behalf of area studies centers and institutes on campus. I love seeing institutions putting together this kind of program — spec lit. is such a great way to get kids engaged!

It’s a little unclear to me, but I think any local K-12 teachers could register for this? Details at the link, but this is part of what it says:
“This institute is open to k-12 teachers across disciplines. Content will be appropriate for students age 12+; reading level will vary.
This FREE program will take place in person. Lunch will be provided. Space is limited to 24 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
Professional development credit is available upon request during registration process. Teachers who attend for credit will be expected to build/submit a lesson plan featuring one or more of the texts used in the program.”
