The strike is over, hoorah, hooray! They were bargaining late into the night yesterday — the final word came after I’d gone to sleep, so I want to take a moment this morning to just thank all of the UIUC faculty union bargaining team.
I especially want to send giant amaryllis appreciation to Aaron Krall, who I believe was chair of bargaining, and who gave yeoman service to the faculty over many late nights (and thereby, by extension, service to the students, the university, and the entire State of Illinois).
Aaron, I hope you got to sleep in today!
As for me, I’m off to exercise, shower, dress, and go teach!
