Hawaiian Japanese Soldiers in WWII

Exhibit at Honolulu airport on Hawaiian Japanese soldiers who fought for the U.S. in World War II. Doesn’t really get into the complexity — no mention of ‘no-no boys,’ for example. (See also John Okada’s novel of that name.)

Sometimes I wish there were just roving historians who would go around and help people revise their hagiographic monuments, exhibits, etc. to better reflect the truth & complexity of these historical moments.
