Impromptu Birthday Board Gaming

In my quest for more fun, I did impromptu birthday week board gaming last night — posted in the local women’s FB gaming group, and two women were free on short notice to join.

So Mary came over and I taught her Lanterns, which is a fun quick game, easy to teach, and then she taught me a game she’d brought, Trails, which I really enjoyed and am going to pick up a copy of, because it’s perfect to bring along if we ever go camping again (two-player game). And somewhere in there Kay arrived, and then I taught both of them Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition, which is the simplified shorter game.

Much fun, though I do want to figure out whom I loaned my full copy of Terraforming Mars to. It’s out there somewhere, and I’m sure it’ll come back eventually. 🙂

I think I’m going to set up a recurring monthly board game night in the group, in the hopes that that will be easier for me to track than trying to set up separate events.
