Writing retreat (plus meetings and meet-ups) — arrival in New York, Seastreak Ferry. I do love a good ferry ride.
I doubt I’ll ever move to the New York area, but if I did, living in Highlands, NJ and taking the 45-minute ferry over once or twice a week would be pretty nice. Even if my New Yorker friends were appalled that I was choosing to live in New Jersey… 
You can get a nice 3 bedroom house with lovely views and nature hikes all around in Highlands for around $400K right now, I think Alex said, which seems surprisingly affordable for the New York area… Although they do get hurricanes sometimes.
(Update, I just did a quick search, and I think Alex was somewhat underpricing the area. There were a few, but not a lot of stock.)
