The kids and I went for a forest walk; I was a little surprised that there wasn’t more in bloom, but maybe Michigan is sufficiently colder than where we are that they’re a little behind us? Some nice green & grey stuff, though. Aside from the pine needles, I couldn’t identify any of it.
There isn’t really a trail right here — you can wander around a bit in the woods, but pretty soon you end up close to other campsites. So if you’re looking to actually hike, you’ll need to drive 10-15 minutes to get to trailheads; there are both easy and harder trails in the area.
It was cool and rainy, and the kids didn’t feel like driving to do a hike, so I can’t report back on those. If we were staying a second night, though, I think we would’ve.
