Shout-out also to the woman who spent ten minutes arguing with me this morning about schools (hybrid / in-person / etc.), was clearly pretty upset about it, probably came to the conclusion that I didn’t agree with her and wouldn’t necessarily support her position — and then signed my petition sheet anyway. That’s some real commitment to democracy there, and I honestly admire her for it.
For what it’s worth, I am pretty sure that by the time I would be taking office in May, the schools will already be making plans for returning to in-person in the fall (thank you vaccine scientists, knock on wood, etc.), so I don’t think I’ll need to be making decisions on that particular front if I make it onto the board.
