I have a propensity for jumping around in time in my stories, and sometimes I wish I could just put a little graphic at the head of each section, a timeline, to indicate ‘you are here’.

I mean, I could do that. But it would be very noticeable and distracting, especially if I did it in all my stories with time jumps. But I bet it would be helpful.

Maybe we should all just go back to being experimental and fill our stories with graphics, though. Is it useful? Is it helpful? Is it fun? Now I want to read some cummings.
