Home again, home again, jiggity jig. I had five events this weekend, two yesterday and three today. Whew! Felt like being back on the campaign trail!
I admit, I am glad to have a very quiet week ahead — I need to drop some balloons at the school for fifth grade graduation, and there’s writing workshop on Wed night, and the DPOP meeting on Saturday morning and the Shriver center fundraiser on Saturday night — but during the week itself, it’s mostly just me alone, reading and writing.
But it was also pretty great being out and about. There are so many awesome people doing awesome things in this community; it’s really nice to see what they’re doing. I had about five years after moving to Oak Park when Kev and I were basically in survival mode with the small children, and it was all we could do to keep the kids alive, maintain our work obligations, and occasionally shower. We hardly did anything social / public. And then there was the year of cancer, of course.
This is better. 🙂
