I am moderately pleased that I made dinner with fire. Burgers for the kids, spicy chicken tikka with grilled peppers and onions for me and Kev. I’m not used to cooking on direct fire, so everything got a little blacker than is perhaps optimal, but still tasty.

I’m here to report that roasting Peeps over the fire is just as viscerally satisfying as one might think. Also, if you do it just right, the sugar caramelizes very nicely, to create a marshmallow thingie that tastes notably better than a regular Peep. Which, I admit, isn’t saying that much…

Really glad we put in the fire pit seating area last summer. I am pro-fire with the family.
