Am very frustrated by swearing in my SF novel. If I use our swears, it sounds weirdly contemporary. If I use made-up swears, it sounds ridiculous. How did Battlestar Galactica get us to accept frakkin'??
If the planet’s colonizers are coming from near-present South Asia, can you adapt swear words from contemporary South Asia?
I like Matt’s suggestion. Reminds me of Firefly and all the Chinese swearing. I liked that.
