The children are finally tucked snugly in bed. I just looked around my own bed and realized that I have:
- a dog at my feet, waiting to be petted
- a cup of tea
- a new knitting project I'm about to start (elephant hat for Kavya, hopefully to be ready in three weeks for Christmas Day)
- a half-read epic fantasy novel that I'm really enjoying (Michelle West's _The Hidden City_)
- a show queued up on Hulu (_Once Upon a Time_)
- and, of course, the internet, on which I am talking to y'all
Even I cannot enjoy all of these comforting things AT THE SAME TIME. I think perhaps I am overcompensating for missing Kevin.
