I love putting up all the holiday decorations, all the sparkle and dazzle, but there's something very peaceful about taking them down again, leaving the house more bare and spacious. Settling into winter. Ready for snow.

Put away two boxes of decorations; cleaned and swept (pine needles!) most of the first floor. Felt good. Just the tree and the exterior lights left; I think we'll leave those for now, since we're having friends over on Saturday. I really should have gone to sleep @ 9, but I got a little obsessive about the cleaning.
