In theory, I should…

In theory, I should write today, but I can't seem to focus. For a few hours this morning, I ended up watching one of the romantic comedies Jed and I didn't get to last weekend -- Becoming Jane. Which, as it turns out, is another one that's more of a meta-rc, than an actual rc. Well worth watching, I think, esp. if you like Austen's work. It's by the same folks as Shakespeare in Love and has something of the same style, though it's set in a different period. Interesting.

After that, I cleaned Kevin's office, because I am a good partner. He's been meaning to get to it for weeks (months?), and he just never seemed to find the time, and so I took an hour to do it. Yay, me. :-) Although really, it was just a way of procrastinating my actual household task for today, which is to put away approximately eight loads of laundry. Once that's done, we'll actually have all our clothes clean and put away for the first time since we came back from California (in part because many of the clothes were in transit until this past weekend, admittedly, but still...) It'll be a huge relief.

Ah, the joys of cleaning. Isn't my life exciting? :-) Tell me, why are you reading this again?

The Konkans, the second novel by Tony D’Souza (author of award-winning “Whiteman”) is less a novel and more a series of interconnected short stories, set in India and Chicago in the 1960s and ’70s, that pivot around three central characters: Francisco’s mother and father, and his uncle Sam.

  3. Thanks, Maya. 🙂
Your recommended book sounds interesting. I had a read and its partial earlier themes reminded me of Indra Sinha’s Animal People. It revolved around a story on an episode similiar to the Bhopal gas disaster & was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in England, last year. The novel’s sales and popularity wareness are still going strong here in Europe.
I also found the Chistian Science Monitor Site s a whole, highly interesting.
