Other than that, just a mix of quiet domesticity and schoolwork around here, plus preparing for two meetings this week. Yesterday I spent some time watching an old film, The Journey (note: terrible plot summary at IMDB site, do not read). Roshan Seth was charming as usual in the role of the widowed father, and the story of a troubled mixed marriage between his son Raj and his white wife Laura was sweetly if slightly told. Their little daughter, played by Nora Bates, was adorable, and I'm surprised that this appears to be her only film. I think what I liked best about the story is that most of the problems in the marriage were individual problems you might find in any marriage; they had nothing to do with the fact that it was an interracial relationship. A nice change from so many stories (including some I've written :-).
