No writing yesterday. …

No writing yesterday. Must write today.

The fundraiser went well last night -- we hung out, had good conversation, met some interesting new people, and raised $290 with very little effort. (The sending of e-mail invites, pretty much.) Fund-raising is a fascinating subject in itself. I need to learn more about it. I was so exhausted that I had to keep sitting down, but people didn't seem to mind. I felt like an old lady, though.

Didn't sleep well or enough last night, so maybe I can squeeze in a nap this afternoon before I go out to Schaumburg to teach my first class. I teach from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays, which is a little late for the Mary Anne. Naps may be necessary, since a groggy teacher is generally not a good teacher.

Plan for today: have breakfast, write until 10 or 11. Wrap Kevin's presents (it's his birthday today!) Run errands. Do final prep for tonight's class. Nap. Give Kevin presents and apologize for not being more creative this year. Go out to Schaumburg early, find my office, meet the local staff there. Maybe write some more, if time allows. Teach. Come home and collapse.

Tomorrow morning, pack and leave by 10 for the airport. Write while in transit; in airport lounges, on the plane, etc. We're getting to the write-all-the-time stage of the novel revision, and nothing may interrupt it if I'm to make my deadline.
