I feel the need to preface this with the note that I've read very little short fiction in the last year, so you don't go in with ridiculous expectations, but I do have to say that Nick Mamatas's Withdraw, Withdraw! is probably the best story I've read in the last year. Smart, sexy, political, poignant.
Nick’s story does rock.
