Had a really fun time…

Had a really fun time yesterday evening -- went to a meet-and-greet with the Rasaka Theatre Company, a new Chicago-based South Asian troupe. Hung out and chatted from 6:30 to midnight, and the time just flew by.

They were so enthusiastic about my writing something for them that I'm tempted to try adapting one or two of my stories. I did send them "Lakshmi's Diary", which is essentially a monologue, and pointed them to "Minal in Winter", which is close to one, and could perhaps be fairly easily adapted. Not sure which others would translate well to the stage, but worth thinking about. Very fun night, funny and interesting people, and can I just say that after a good decade of being surrounded by South Asian doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc., it's a sheer delight to finally meet some of my own in the community? I knew they had to be out there, somewhere...
