The really exciting SLF news is that our 501(c)3 application has been approved by the IRS! All contributions and membership fees are now tax-deductible (retroactive to the start of the organization, so if you joined in 2003, you can deduct this on your 2003 taxes). Woohoo!
If you love spec fic and have not yet joined us as a member, please consider joining now. New projects waiting on funding include a grant for older writers (50+, probably), and travel assistance grants. The bulk of our operating funds will undoubtedly come from membership fees, so please do spread the word.
