Jed and I have been making googly faces at each other all morning. Much fun. But my poor computer's processor is just barely fast enough to run this stuff, and it slows down everything else noticeably while it's going, so I don't think I'm just going to keep it running in the background all the time, even though I do find the sound of Jed's fingers on the keyboard tippity-tapping obscurely comforting. It'll be interesting to see how much we use it once we're actually in different states. Will we wake up in the morning, turn it on, say hello? Chat for a while? Only use it when we really want to see each other? Hmmm...
Turns out that the video doesn't work over phone lines, so I won't bother taking the camera to Europe with me. But audio does, so in theory, we can chat for free while I'm there. Well, free unless Kirsten (who I'm staying with in England) is paying by the hour for dial-up access. Then it becomes less free. :-)
