Almost done with the…

Almost done with the Spivak -- just one essay left. I would try to power through it before bed, but I'm unfortunately developing some sort of cold; feeling slightly feverish, with an itchy, phlegmy throat. Yuck. I suppose I should consider myself lucky that I haven't gotten sick before this, given the kinds of hours I've been putting in. But it's hard to consider oneself lucky when one's head is achey.

I'm going to watch a little tv, then go to sleep. I can finish the Spivak in the morning. Plan for tomorrow:

  • finish Spivak
  • finish notes on stack of (11) books next to computer, about two hours of work, then file books on 'completed' shelf
  • order copy of Ian Watt's The Rise of the Novel, which isn't on my list, but which Francois recommended I should read -- also probably Bronowski and Mazlish's Western Intellectual Tradition
  • buy plane tickets to fly to Utah and actually take my exam
  • read Derrida's Writing and Difference
I went to the gym today, and the grocery store, and I cooked a nice spicy fish curry which will feed me tomorrow, so I plan to just stay home all day and work as much as my body will allow me to. We'll see how it goes.

Hmm...maybe I'll buy the books before bed. That would be constructive, and I think just barely within my capabilities. Will give it a go, anyway.
