"I bear news that is very painful to deliver. We have had to cancel the release of Herotica 7.
The intersection of sex and culture in the Herotica 7 collection proved to be more highly charged than we anticipated. While finding it critical to respect the intention of the writers and the editors, we have been unable to resolve subsequent conflicts that have arisen within the cooperative concerning tone and content.
We have explored many ways to satisfy the many stakeholders in this book's publication, and have come to no satisfactory resolution. This is an enormous personal disappointment for me and will be a major blow for Down There Press."
Rights are reverting to the authors, and they have also been paid for the contributions, I believe.

Can’t say I’m surprised. Art just cannot be done through consensus-building. Strong opinions are blunted, and because of the “harmony ideology” that informs these organizations, the best bet at keeping harmony and avoiding icky conflict is killing the controversies.
