Re: publishing essays: Shmuel mentions
Salmagundi, out of Skidmore, which I have failed to find a web page for, despite extensive perusal of Skidmore's pages. Frustrating. The bio blurb in Shields's book mentions:
The New York Times Magazine, Harper's, Yale Review, McSweeney's, Salon, Village Voice, Utne Reader, Threepenny Review, and
Conjunctions, but that's for both fiction and essays, so I'm not sure which is which. I suppose the next step is to go check the guidelines for all of those. Sigh. This should all be easier, somehow. My brain is convinced of that, despite a lack of evidence to support the conviction.
Finished the Shields book, had some curry for lunch, trying to decide what to do next. I think I'll read a little more of Mike Jasper's novel -- I'm still not ready to immerse myself in Tristram Shandy.
