Serendib Garden

Thalia are my favorite daffodils — a little smaller than standard, so elegant in their shape and the clean white. They spread really happily in my garden too, so I have more of them every year. I dug a huge crowded clump up, separated and moved them to a few other places, which went well.

I had the kids do 30 minutes of weeding yesterday, pulling Virginia waterleaf, a native that is way too happy in my yard (want some?). Anand: “It’s going to feel so good when we’re done!” 

This arrived in the mail yesterday, and I felt a weird, unholy glee at the sight. I think I may be feeling a wee bit frustrated. Going to do some LOPPING today.

This morning, the tomatoes looked out the window at the snowfall and said, “See? We told you. We know you’re eager to go out, but it’s just too soon. Stay home, stay safe.”

Anyone know what these little seedlings are? Are they going to turn into big trees, so I should pull them out now?
